Taper, sweet taper.

Things I currently am not doing: 

1. Running

Things I currently am doing: 

1.  Buying a Garmin. Now that I have an official FHR singlet AND a Garmin maybe I will finally start referring to myself as a runner.  

(When did you finally feel like you could call yourself a runner? This post is almost identical to how I feel about calling myself a runner).

2. Creating packing lists and piles of "things I might wear" all over my room.

3. Worrying about race logistics. Should I bring a handheld water? Will that slow my down? Will my arm get too tired? Will the water stations be too crowded? Will they run out of cups? Will there be Gu? What flavors of Gu will there be? Should I wear a long sleeve shirt? Should I rock my new singlet? Will my arms chafe too much? Will I be hot? Will I be cold? Will it be sunny? Should I wear a hat? Can you tell I've never run a marathon before?

T-minus 3 days!

Race week is HERE!

I cannot believe this week is finally here!!

As you can see, there hasn't been a whole lot of productivity around these parts this week. Unless you count reading Philadelphia marathon race reports, stalking weather.com and trying not to go too crazy with this whole "rest" thing.

Drew is also really excited (or maybe she's more excited about Movember...you tell me). 

 

 

Winter?

It appears that while I was sleeping last night old man winter showed up.
Who doesn't love waking up to a blanket of snow? 

Unfortunately, he brought along some nasty rain as well.

Luckily, with a few extra layers, a head band and some gloves, running this morning was actually very enjoyable.

Ten days to go!

Science Rules.

 Sometimes being in lab on a Monday night at 9:30 pm is not so fun. Other times, when you get to wear a pretty sweet tie-dye lab coat and create chemiluminescence, lab on a Monday night is actually a rockin' good time. 

And on a totally unrelated note, Happy Election Day! 

This morning was my first time voting in Massachusetts - very exciting!!

Feels great to be part of democracy.
